Originals of all records presented on the Historic Court Records website are available for research at the Fredericksburg Circuit Court Archives located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Photocopies of the records may be ordered by mail.

The Fredericksburg Circuit Court Archives, located at 601 Caroline St., Fredericksburg, Virginia, is normally available for research at the following times:

Monday through Friday
8:30 a.m. to 12 noon
1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Archives is closed on all federal and state holidays and on weekends.

Due to limited research space and staffing it is recommended that an appointment be made for research in the Archives.

Appointments for research at the Archives are to be made through the Circuit Court Clerk's Office at 540-372-1066.

Public parking is available in the Sophia St. parking garage adjacent to 601 Caroline St. (enter the garage from Wolf St.). The first two hours of parking in the garage are free.

Public parking is also available on nearby streets (usually with a 2 hour limit) and in city parking lots located along the river about 3 blocks from the Archives.
