Inquests
1792 - 1945
Inquests were inquiries conducted upon decedents to determine cause of death. With the exception
of one inquest directed by the Spotsylvania District Court, all inquests listed herein were
conducted under the direction of the Fredericksburg Hustings Court (Circuit Court after 1941).
Records in the searchable Inquest database
can be accessed by decedent's name or cause of death.
